Here are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the Arizona Author Book Festival.

Who receives the money you collect from the event? SEEDs for Autism receives 100 percent of  funds/fees collected from event sponsors, vendors, and authors in advance of the event and from raffle ticket sales during the event. Vendors (i.e. bookstores, authors, food trucks, etc.) receive the proceeds from their merchandise sales during the festival, although many have offered to donate a percent of sales to SEEDs as well.

What is SEEDs for Autism? SEEDs provides a path from “learning to earning” for young adults with autism through education, vocational training, and social development in Phoenix, Arizona. Learn more here.

Can I volunteer to help before or during the festival? Yes! Click here for details.

Can I bring my kids to the festival? Yes! This is a family friendly event with activities for all ages.

Will the festival be indoors or outside? Most of the festival will be indoors. The Food Pavilion will be outside (food trucks, tables and seating with some shade tents), and a few specialty mobile vendors will be outside, as well.

Can I bring my dog? Only service animals are permitted at the festival.

Who is coordinating and hosting the festival? Jessica McCann is an Arizona author and volunteer coordinator of the event. Perspective Financial Services, a Phoenix-based financial planning firm founded by Mike McCann, is providing funds for expenses necessary to host the event. SEEDs for Autism is providing the venue.

Terms and Conditions:

This is a free, family-friendly event. No books, products or services containing or advocating erotica, gratuitous violence, discrimination, or other content deemed inappropriate by festival organizers will be considered. Selection of authors, vendors, and sponsors will be at the full discretion of the event organizers.

Application fees, vendor fees, and sponsorship funds are due in advance and are nonrefundable; 100 percent of money collected in this form will benefit SEEDs for Autism, a Phoenix-based 501c3 charitable organization.

By agreeing to participate as an author, vendor, or sponsor of the festival, you agree to all terms and will hold all organizing parties blameless for any circumstances leading to event cancellation and/or any losses and damages you may incur as a result of  your participation.

    Jessica–Thank you for organizing this! Both my husband and older son are Asperger’s, as is the protagonist of my historical mystery (1/2025, Artemesia Publishing)–although Asperger’s wasn’t recognized until more than 60 years after the 1885 setting of my novel. I also have an Asperger’s character in Hoodoo, the fourth Frankie MacFarlane, Geologist, mystery, so I applaud the Seeds for Autism benefactor of any proceeds from the AZ Author Book Festival.
